4-10 Landscaping

About 4-10 Landscaping

Morning comes to Ludlow off the Chicopee River, a low silver light that slides up the brick of the old mill and then finds the lawns on the streets above it. 4-10 Landscaping works those streets — mowing, edging, trimming, and the cleanups that bracket a New England year at both ends. There is a particular satisfaction in the last pass of a mow, when the stripes line up and the border along the walk goes sharp as a pencil line. Grass here races in June and loafs in September, and much of the work is simply knowing which is which. What gets left behind is a yard that reads as cared for from the road, which in a town this walkable is the whole point.
