About Grass Roots Landscaping

Rattlesnake Gutter Road climbs Leverett through a boulder ravine where the hemlocks keep their own weather, and a plow blade up there earns its keep. Grass Roots Landscaping works those dirt roads and dooryards, plowing driveways open before the school bus makes its turnaround and clearing the walks that glaze over in the night. Come May the same ground softens and the work turns to mowing, trimming and edging hill-town lawns that fight for their light between the oaks. There is a plain satisfaction in a drive opened end to end while the ridge is still blue-dark, and in a lawn cut straight on ground that has never once been flat. Leverett is small enough that the job and the favor are the same errand.
