The old rail bed runs straight through Holliston and the town arranges itself around it, Lake Winthrop on one side, Bogastow Brook wandering off the other. Holliston's R & R Landscaping keeps the lawns along those streets mowed, edged and trimmed through the long green stretch of the year. Spring starts wet here, so the first cuts wait on the ground firming up; by July the work is steady and the stripes are crisp. There is honest pride in a strip of turf held level right up to the walk with nothing shaggy left at the fence line. Fall cleanups close the season out, the maples over Mudville going red and then bare.
