Up toward Seymour Pond the pitch pines hold snow like they were built for it, and a winter afternoon in north Harwich can be the quietest place on the Cape. Rock River Co works that quiet with a plow — driveways cleared, walks cut through, sand laid where a shaded drive never quite lets go of its ice. Storms come sideways off the sound and pack hard into the corners, so the second pass matters as much as the first.
