Luke's Tree Service works Cape soil, which is mostly sand — trees root shallow here and take the wind at an angle, and knowing that changes how you prune them. The days go to trimming black locust back off the shingles, removal of a pine that leans a little further every season, and shaping scrub oak so a yard gets its afternoon light again. Then the storm season arrives and the job becomes cleanup: limbs out of the drive, the lot cleared, the house set for whatever comes next. A Harwich yard that has been tended right takes the wind and shrugs.
