Harvard sits high enough that the western sky does most of the talking, and from the Prospect Hill side the land falls away in orchard rows and pasture until Wachusett stands up blue at the end of it. Chestnut Tree and Landscape keeps lawns under that long view: mown in clean parallel passes, trimmed tight to the granite, edges cut so the grass stops exactly where it was told to stop. Come January the same open hills turn the wind sideways and load the driveways in overnight, so the plow goes out early enough that the first thing a household sees is bare pavement and a salted front step. There is a real satisfaction in a yard raked out to the wood line in November, and in a turnaround opened before the bus comes up the road. It is particular, unglamorous work, and this is a good town in which to do it.
