A nor'easter over Gloucester announces itself hours ahead, the harbor going the color of pewter and the wind finding every seam in a coat. Pure Solutions is out in it — plowing, opening drives and walks on streets where granite comes up through the yards and the ocean sends its snow in wet and clinging. In the green months the work turns to mowing, edging and hauling off the cleanups, keeping salt-tested lawns tidy from the boulevard back toward Dogtown's stone walls.
