Ten Pound Island sits out in the harbor with its small light, and from most of Gloucester you can find it if you know which gap between roofs to look through. Lighthouse Landscaping works the streets on shore — mowing, trimming, edging, mulching, hedge work, and the spring and fall cleanups that reset a yard twice a year. Once the harbor starts steaming on cold mornings, the trucks turn to plowing: driveways cleared to pavement, walks and steps shoveled, sand and salt down before the freeze locks in. Storms here arrive on the wind and leave a mess on the leeward side of everything. Getting there early is most of the job.
