About K & K Mulch and Loam Inc.

Mine Brook runs quietly under Union Street, past the stretch where Franklin's mills once turned on the same water, and on a February night that corridor goes soundless under falling snow. That is K & K Mulch and Loam Inc.'s hour. The truck rolls at midnight and works driveway to driveway, banking the piles where they will not blind a car pulling out, then comes back at four to take the new inches off. Walks get shoveled down to the concrete and treated so the morning freeze has nothing to grab. Snow gets measured in inches; the work gets measured by whether anyone had trouble getting out.
