Franklin's downtown still gathers around the old depot, and at seven on a summer evening Emmons Street fills with people walking dogs past yards that were mowed that morning. Lawndog Landscapes cuts a good many of those yards. Mowing on schedule, trimming the fence lines a dog patrols daily, edging the walk, and carting off the cleanups in spring and again in fall. When the snow comes the same trucks plow the drives and open the walkways so the evening walk still happens in January. It is a good living, keeping the ground that people actually use.
