The name leaves nothing to guess at. Franklin Plow Company, LLC works the town's night shift in winter, running streets named Pleasant and Cottage and Summer while the rest of Franklin sleeps through the weather. Driveways get opened end to end, lots get cleared before the first car arrives, walks and steps get shoveled and treated so the morning does not turn into a rink. A plow route is a loop rather than a line — the same drives come around twice when the snow keeps falling. Dawn is the scoreboard: dark pavement, square banks, everybody out on time.
