Fitchburg was quarried out of Rollstone Hill, and you can still read the granite in its curbs, its foundations, its front steps — hard edges a lawn has to meet cleanly or not at all. PK's Landscaping mows to those edges, running straight lines across the open yard and then trimming tight against the stone so nothing looks half-finished. By October the maples above the Upper Common are letting go all at once, and the cleanups begin: leaves off the turf, beds tidied, the yard emptied before the cold sets it. Come April the work runs the other direction, stripping off what winter left behind and starting the mowing over. It is steady, unglamorous labor, and a well-kept yard in a hill city is never an accident.
