Late on a February afternoon the sky over Waquoit Bay goes the color of a struck match, then blue, and the squall that has been waiting all day finally lets go. Tyler Brown Services works those hours through East Falmouth and Teaticket, plowing driveways, clearing lots, pushing snow back off the aprons where it drifts hardest. The cold near Green Pond carries a wet weight to it, and the shovel stays busy long after the truck has moved on. Morning finds the pavement dark and open again, roof edges dripping, the road out of the neighborhood clear from end to end. Small, useful work, finished long before anybody is awake to notice.
