March comes up West Falmouth Harbor with a wind that rattles the loose caps on the stone walls and pushes whitecaps past Chapoquoit. Fraser Landscape works both ends of that month — plowing and sanding when a late storm swings in, then, days later, raking out beds and cutting back the winter-burned edges as the ground finally opens. Mowing starts when the grass says so, and after that it settles into a steady cadence of trimming, edging and mulch through the warm months. The harbor side of town is old lanes and tight turns, which rewards knowing where the snow should go and where the beds begin under the leaves. Done right, the turn of the year shows up in the yards before it shows up anywhere else.
