About GBK COMPANY, INC.

West Island in February is a bare, beautiful place — phragmites bent flat, ice shelving along the marsh edge, and a causeway that catches every bit of drifting snow that comes its way. GBK COMPANY, INC. runs winter work out that way and back through town: plowing drives and lots, shoveling steps and walks, spreading salt and sand where the wind keeps reopening the same drift. Come the green half of the year those routes turn to mowing, edging, trimming and the cleanups that clear the winter's wrack off a lawn. Living beside a bay means weather arrives without much notice, so the schedule is built to move fast. Open pavement in the morning and a level cut in July come out of the same habit of showing up.
