Russo's Plowing

About Russo's Plowing

Storms end more slowly than they begin. The last flakes are still drifting past the Glendale Park backstop when Russo's Plowing is out finishing the corners — tight back driveways off Ferry Street, the walks running up toward the Malden line, the hard ridge a city pass leaves across the end of a drive. Everett gives a truck no margin, so the work happens in short pulls and backs, and someone gets out with a shovel for the stairs. The payoff is small and exact: a car that pulls out on the first try, a mail carrier who doesn't have to wade. When the sun finally breaks, the whole street glares white and the opened drive is the one place you can walk without picking your steps.
