April at Glendale Park is all mud and green promise — the ballfields softening underfoot, the maples going up in that first haze of leaf. Florus Services Company meets the year there and then follows it around the calendar: cleanups first, then mowing week after week through the heat, edging, trimming, and the long leaf work when those same maples let go in November. Then the ground hardens and the trucks change over to plowing driveways and lots, shoveling steps and walkways, and salting the shaded stretches that stay treacherous after the sun has done its best. Everett runs on tight streets and short patience about parking, so the trucks work clean and get out of the way. Two seasons, one piece of ground, tended straight through.
