About A & J Porfilio Landscape Contractors, Inc

Snow reaches East Longmeadow quietly, settling over the old red sandstone the town was quarried from, filling the hollows along the rail trail long before the first car ever swings through the rotary. A & J Porfilio Landscape Contractors, Inc keeps the hours nobody else wants — blades down at two in the morning, headlights turning the flakes gold on Somers Road, so a driveway near Pine Knoll is bare pavement by the time the coffee is poured. Storms come up the Connecticut valley and stack against the rise toward Wilbraham, and the answer never changes: clear it, widen it, salt the walk so the mail carrier has honest footing. There is a real pleasure in a lot opened corner to corner, banks pushed back square rather than shaved, the apron cut clean where the pavement meets the street. By the time the sky goes pale over Heritage Park, the town wakes to open blacktop and the trucks turn for home.
