About Family Tree Services

North Dighton keeps its old mill village tucked in among the back roads, and past it the town opens into hayfields with a tree line running along every boundary. Family Tree Services works out there and in the closer neighborhoods off 138 — clearing a dead white pine at a field edge, thinning a maple crowding a porch roof, opening a crown so the lawn can dry out after rain. Where a bucket cannot reach, the tree is climbed and roped down in pieces small enough to carry. Late autumn is pruning weather here: leaves down, ground firm, the whole architecture of a tree finally on display. When a nor'easter puts one over a lane overnight, they cut the wood out, chip the brush, and leave the yard raked and open.
