Winter reaches Danvers off the water — a storm that comes up the Porter River marshes with salt still in it, and by morning the whole town is one soft, unreadable white. Ceso Landscape & Construction answers that hour with a plow blade and a clean line: driveways opened before the first car turns onto Route 1, walkways cut down to bare pavement, parking lots pushed back to their proper edges so a place can get on with its day. There is a plain satisfaction in the result — the low banked wall of snow, the dark strip of asphalt steaming a little in the early light, the granite curb showing again right where it belongs. This is landscape and construction work in the other seasons; in this one it is the simple business of handing Danvers and its neighboring North Shore towns their ground back, storm after storm.
