MKL Enterprises is out in it, plowing driveways and lots, clearing walkways and doorways, and sanding the packed spots where boots and tires have polished snow to glass. Berkshire storms stack up here — a squall over the hills, a lull, then another six inches before daylight — so the routes get run more than once a night. A yard opened up wide, with the banks pushed back where they belong, gives a whole household one less thing to think about in the morning. That is the entire job, storm after storm, straight through to March.
