About Berkshire Turfgrass Specialists

Morning fog sits on Cheshire Reservoir until the sun clears the Hoosac Range, and then the whole valley goes bright and wet at once. Berkshire Turfgrass Specialists works the lawns under Greylock's northern shoulder — mowing on a steady turn, edging along drives and walks, trimming close, cleaning up what spring and autumn leave scattered. Up at this elevation the growing season starts late and quits early, and hill ground drains fast in one spot and not at all ten feet away, so a lawn asks to be read before it is cut. The payoff is a green that holds right through a short Berkshire summer. Cut, edged and quiet again by the time the rail trail fills with bicycles.
