Mud season lets go slowly up here, and then one week in May the hills along Route 9 turn every green at once. JBK Landscaping & Tree Service works with that turn — first cuts, a spring cleanup that hauls off whatever the snowbanks left, mulch spread while the ground is still cool. Through the summer it is mowing and trimming on rotation, edging along drives and walkways, holding a yard's shape against woods that would happily take it back. Cummington lawns run right up to maple trunks and stone wall, so the trim work is as much of the job as the mowing. Come October the leaf round closes it out, and the yards go into the cold looking looked-after.
