About Ave's Handy Van LLC

Snow on Chilmark is an event — the ferries slow, Beetlebung Corner goes silent, and the stone walls turn into long white seams across the pastures. Ave's Handy Van LLC works those days: plowing driveways and dirt lanes, clearing walkways and doorsteps, sanding the pitch down toward Menemsha where salt air and freeze take turns with the surface. Up-island roads wind, narrow and end at the water, so every drive is its own puzzle and none of them clear themselves. When the sky opens over Vineyard Sound and the light comes back hard and low, a lane cut all the way out to the road is worth a great deal. That's the work, one storm at a time.
