Jean Brooks Landscapes

About Jean Brooks Landscapes

Late summer loosens its hold on Chelsea Creek, and the work turns with it — containers replanted for the cooler months, beds cut back, drawings for spring already spreading across the table. Jean Brooks Landscapes is a landscape design, build, and maintain firm working out of Chelsea, a tight grid of a city where salt air comes up off the tidal water and the Boston skyline stands near enough to measure the light against. The days run from detailed design into installation — plantings set, hardscape and custom features laid, gardeners circling back through the season to keep it all in hand — out across Cambridge, Somerville, Brookline, Newton, Wellesley, Weston, Belmont, Arlington, Lexington, Winchester and the wider Greater Boston area. There is a plain physical pleasure in the result: a bed that reads clean from the sidewalk, stone that sits true underfoot, a garden that holds its shape from one season into the next.
