Evergreen Snow Services

About Evergreen Snow Services

Snow is a stranger in Chatham more often than not, but when a coastal storm wraps around the elbow of the Cape it can arrive sideways, heavy and salted by the Atlantic wind. Evergreen Snow Services clears it for homes here, from shingled cottages near Stage Harbor to houses set back on the roads above Pleasant Bay. On storm nights the beam from Chatham Light sweeps across a white town while the surf booms out on the bars, and by morning the gulls are circling the fish pier again. The work is about restoring the ordinary: a cleared drive, a path dug to the door, the way into the village open once more. Even out on the gray edge of the Atlantic, winter here gets met head-on.
