About Funk Landscape & Design

Late October in Charlton turns these hills the color of struck brass, and the old stone walls threading the farm lots show sharp again once the leaves are raked clear. Funk Landscape & Design works that rolling stretch of Central Massachusetts — mowing and lawn maintenance, power raking and sod, mulch laid dark around trimmed shrubs and hedges, and cleanups that hand a property over to winter in good order. The stonework is done in house: paver and cobblestone patios and walkways, retaining walls, stairway repair, privacy fence set true along a line. Then February leans on the back roads toward Oxford, Auburn, Holden and Leicester, and the plow work begins — drives opened while it is still dark. There is a plain, lasting pleasure in all of it: a crisp edge, a walkway that sits level for decades, a yard that carries its season well.
