About Barroso Home Services

Late October on the Lower Cape, and the scrub oaks above Brewster turn the color of old brass while the tide walks a mile out across the flats. That is aeration and over-seeding weather — beds edged clean, shrubs pruned back, the leaves carried off before the first hard wind comes across Cape Cod Bay. Barroso Home Services keeps the Lower and Mid Cape in order through all of it: mowing and lawn fertilization in the green months, spring clean-ups with de-thatching and fresh mulch, garden planting and design, patios, walkways and stone retaining walls, irrigation, gutter cleaning, tree work, and snow removal when the storms stack up off the water. There is a plain, physical pleasure in the results — a walkway that sits true underfoot, a bed line drawn crisp against the grass, a driveway opened before anyone is awake. Sandy soil and salt air ask a lot of a Cape yard, and this is the work that lets one hold its season.
