Plowguys of Braintree

About Plowguys of Braintree

It starts with the blade set just so, the low grind of a snowblower biting into a drift, the scrape and lift of a shovel worked down to bare pavement along a walk. Plowguys of Braintree runs snow plowing, snowblowing, shoveling, snow relocation and hauling, and de-icing with ice-melt treatment, out of a town where the Monatiquot cuts between granite ledge and the Blue Hills stand gray on the western sky. There is a particular satisfaction in a South Shore driveway opened before the streetlights go off, in banks pushed back square instead of sloppy, in a sidewalk that shows its own seams again by the time the first car door slams. Their routes run from Braintree through Quincy, Weymouth, Hingham and Hull, and north into Boston, Cambridge, Somerville, Brookline and Newton, covering homes, condominium lots and commercial pavement alike. What they leave behind is simply a place able to get on with its morning.
