By mid-October the rise above Baldpate Pond has gone copper, and every Boxford yard is ankle-deep in what the oaks let go. Lovely Earth Gardening takes that season head-on — beds cut back and mulched, leaves hauled off, the lawn given one last low cut before the ground stiffens. Through the growing months it is mowing, trimming and tending the planted edges where grass meets stone wall and woodland. Then the calendar flips and those same driveways need plowing, those same front walks need shoveling down to the brick. There is a pleasure in handing a place back to its owners twice a year: tucked in for the cold, then opened up green.
