About WM Earthworks
A retaining wall goes in over a Billerica afternoon, course by course, until the slope that used to slide stops arguing and simply holds — and the yard above it goes flat and usable and quiet. WM Earthworks does the work underneath the pretty part: grading, land clearing and excavation, drainage that sends spring melt where it belongs instead of into a basement, stump removal, pool demolition, pool patios, utility work, and material delivered by the load. This is glacial ground — the Concord and Shawsheen running low through old mill country, till and stone and oak roots woven tight — and it takes machines and patience to persuade it into a new shape. Come winter the same crew is out in the dark with plows and blowers, opening driveways from Chelmsford and Tewksbury up through Nashua and Hudson before the coffee is cold. What they leave behind is the good kind of invisible: water moving right, earth sitting still, a place that keeps its footing.
