About Cicoria Tree and Crane Service, Inc.

A well-tended property keeps giving back long after the trucks pull away — shade over the porch through August, an open view toward the harbor once the leaves go, limbs overhead that have been looked after and can be trusted. Cicoria Tree and Crane Service works at that scale in Beverly, where salt wind off the Atlantic and shallow ground over granite ask a great deal of the old oaks and maples leaning above the mill-town streets. The days go to pruning and trimming, removals and stump grinding, cabling and bracing the heavy leaders that carry more weight than they should, and the emergency call when a nor'easter lays a trunk across somebody's driveway before dawn. Alongside that runs the quieter half of the trade: fertilization and soil management, insect and disease work, care for trees standing too close to new construction, emerald ash borer treatment, and arborist consultation for the ones worth saving. The result reads plainly from the sidewalk — clean cuts, a canopy opened just enough to let the low North Shore light fall onto the grass, a yard that looks like someone is paying attention.
