Beaver Brook runs through Belmont beneath the Waverley Oaks, and the ground beside it does what New England ground does: soft and rioting in May, hard and white by January. Jake's Landscaping meets both ends of that — mowing, string trimming, mulch and cleanups while the grass is growing, then plowing, shoveling and de-icing once the brook goes glassy at its edges. Summer work gets measured in stripes across a back lawn; winter work gets measured in how early the driveway opens. Same yards, same trucks, a different pair of gloves on the wheel before sunrise. The reward either way is somebody stepping outside and finding nothing in the way.
