From the Enfield Lookout the Quabbin lies out cold and enormous, and Belchertown sits on the hill above it catching whatever weather crosses the water. Hall & Son Landscaping works both halves of that year: mowing, trimming and cleanups through the growing weeks, then plowing and shoveling once the reservoir wind turns bitter. Storms here like to linger, and the drives along the ridge roads need opening more than once before dawn. Come May the same yards get cut close and edged, the borders drawn back where winter blurred them. It is steady work in a town that keeps time by its seasons.
