Puglielli Landscape Design works the wooded, river-cut ground of Bedford, where the Shawsheen and the Concord slip past old stone walls and the bike path runs straight through town on a railbed that no longer carries trains. Their work begins on paper — full-service landscape design — and ends in things you can stand on: patios and walls and steps set true, water features catching the low gold light that comes sideways through oaks in October. Between those two points sits the long patient middle: lawn maintenance and mowing, irrigation and hydroseeding coaxing green out of April mud, bark mulch blown dark and even around every bed, landscape lighting turning a walkway into something worth coming home to. Then the year tips, and the same hands are out plowing and sanding before the first commuter reaches the end of the driveway — pavement black and bare, the banks pushed back clean, the whole property still holding its shape under a foot of white. It is a good feeling, that: a place kept, from the first thaw to the last storm, by people who know exactly where every edge belongs.
