Grandson’s Yard Work

About Grandson’s Yard Work

Late summer leans into autumn on Barnstable's stretch of Cape Cod, and the work leans with it — the mower's weekly rhythm easing off, the rake and blower coming forward as the maples along the Old King's Highway begin letting go. Grandson's Yard Work keeps lawns cut close and even through the growing months, then clears the drifts of leaves that gather against fences and foundations once the salt wind turns. In between comes the mulch: dark beds laid fresh around plantings, tended and refreshed so the flower borders read crisp against sandy Cape soil. There is a real satisfaction in the after — a yard that looks tended from the road, edges holding their line, beds dark and tidy, the whole property carrying its season well. The same care travels the mid-Cape and beyond, from Sandwich and Mashpee out to Chatham and Harwich, and across the bridge to Plymouth and Mattapoisett.
