That is the shape of the week at Jack's Landscaping & Construction, an Avon outfit that keeps lawns mowed and maintained on a steady rhythm, runs a six-step lawn application program, sets patios and fire pits into the ground, plants everything from perennials to ornamental shrubs, and prunes what has gotten away from itself — for homes and businesses alike. Avon is small and wooded, flat oak-and-maple country south of Boston where old factory streets meet the hum of the Route 24 corridor; it is good ground for a backyard that earns its evenings, and for a patio that holds the last of the August light. Then the season turns, and the same work goes to snow: a driveway opened dark and wet, edges squared to the lawn beneath, done before the neighborhood has finished its coffee.
