Sammy's Lawns

About Sammy's Lawns

Late April in Ashland, and the ground along the Sudbury River finally gives underfoot — the first cut of the year comes up damp and green-smelling, and the town starts to look like itself again. Sammy's Lawns keeps that going straight through the growing months, mowing weekly, biweekly, or simply as needed, and taking one-time cuts for the yards that have gotten ahead of their owners. There is a plain satisfaction in the work: the long pass held true beside an old stone wall, the edge kept crisp where grass meets driveway, a property that reads as cared for from the road at six in the evening. Come winter, when storms track down over the MetroWest hills and bury Ashland to the mailbox, they clear the snow — so the drive is open and dark before anyone has to leave for the day. Same town, same hands, whichever way the season leans.
