First light comes late to Ashland in December, and by the time it reaches the Sudbury River the driveway has already been plowed and salted, the pavement dark and passable before anyone reaches for a coat. Matthews Landscape and Construction works the yards and drives of this MetroWest mill town — snow plowing and salting through winter, spring and fall cleanups, lawn maintenance and renovation, garden care and flowerscaping, tree and shrub trimming, irrigation and landscape lighting. When the ground softens, the work turns to stone: patios laid level, natural stone walks curving toward a door, fireplaces and firepits built to hold an evening well past dusk.
