Fred's Lawn and Tree Service

About Fred's Lawn and Tree Service

Late September in Amherst tips the whole valley toward gold — corn stubble along Sunderland Road, the Holyoke Range going rust and amber over the fields — and that is prime season for the heavy work. Fred's Lawn and Tree Service takes on lawn care and landscaping, construction, demolition, and junk removal across Western Massachusetts and Northern Connecticut, which means some days end with a graded yard coming in green and others with a truck bed holding everything a cellar had been keeping. The pleasure is in the after: the edge cut clean along a walk, a bed mulched dark and even, a site swept down to bare ground and ready for whatever comes next. Valley soil is generous when you give it shape, and a property here can hold that shape a long while — through the wet spring, through the hard August light, into the low blue afternoons under Norwottuck. Good work you can walk out and stand in.
