Organic Soil Solutions

About Organic Soil Solutions

In Acton the dooryards run right up to the road, and the old fieldstone walls hold their line under the white pines while Fort Pond Brook works its slow way through the Nashoba Valley below. Organic Soil Solutions works down where the story actually starts — soil tests, core aeration and compost top dressing, slice seeding, organic granular fertilizers, humate blend and limestone, microbial foods for the biology under the blade. Above ground the same care shows in the plain, satisfying things: a lawn mowed to an even nap, beds mulched and edged so the curve reads clean from the street, spring pruning, fall cleanup raked down to bare ground, mosquito and tick spray for the shaded corners. They set patios and walks too — permeable pavers, natural stone laid to sit level with the frost still to come. Come the long green of a Nashoba Valley July, a yard done this way holds its color the honest way, from the ground up.
