High St. Lawn Unlimited LLC works the glacial ground of Acton and the Middlesex towns around it — the oak-and-pine lots off Great Road, the mill streets of South Acton where Fort Pond Brook still runs, the yards sitting inside stone walls older than the grass they hold. Mowing and edging make the weekly rhythm of it: mulch laid dark around a bed, bushes trimmed back into shape, hydroseed going down where bare ground needs convincing. Heavier days call for retaining walls, flower beds, fire pits and outdoor kitchens, tree work and land clearing, stump grinding, excavation, erosion control, a power washer pulling a winter's gray off the stone. What all of it is after is the look of a place tended — the crisp line where turf meets mulch, the slope that drains instead of washing out, the patio you want to stand on in June. Then the cold comes, and the same trucks plow, sand and salt and haul the snow off the site, so drives in Concord and Maynard open onto clear pavement while the light is still blue.
