About Audubon Turf Tenders

Dawn in Violet is a sound before it is a light — a towboat working somewhere behind the levee while the yards are still silver with dew. Audubon Turf Tenders keeps to those first cool hours, when the blades cut clean and the clippings fall soft instead of clumping. The work is mowing, edging along the walks and drives, trimming the fence lines by hand, then a pass to clear the concrete so it reads sharp against the green. Delta grass grows fast and forgives everything but neglect; it answers to rhythm, a steady week after week, more than to any one heroic afternoon. By the time the sun stands high over Judge Perez Drive, the lawn is squared away and the rest of the day belongs to the people who live there.
