Roussels Lawn Care

About Roussels Lawn Care

Vacherie sits between the levee and the cane, and by October the fields go down row by row while trucks run day and night toward the mill. Roussels Lawn Care works the yards in between — mowing, edging, string trimming and hauling off the cuttings along River Road and the lanes running back toward Bayou Chevreuil. The oaks here are older than the roads, and a lawn beneath them wants a different touch than one out in open sun. Spring arrives fast and wet; by April the grass is asking weekly, and a yard cut Saturday can look shaggy again by Tuesday. The reward hardly changes: a lawn brought back to a straight edge, the drive swept, the whole place sitting level with the fields behind it.
