Grass, Garden and Grounds

About Grass, Garden and Grounds

High summer on the streets off Hickory Avenue is a wall of sound: cicadas in the oaks, a window unit humming somewhere, and a mower working across a lawn that put on four inches since last week. Grass, Garden and Grounds keeps that pace all season in River Ridge, because St. Augustine in a Louisiana July waits for nobody. Mowing, string trimming and edging go together on every stop, with bed lines and tree rings brought back to a shape you can see from the street. The blower makes the final pass, moving cuttings off the pavement and back onto the turf where they do some good. By evening the yard is short, striped and squared, and the whole block feels cooler for it.
