About AKR WaterScapes

Port Allen lives with water on both hands — the Mississippi held back by the levee, and the lock stepping barges down into the Intracoastal a few blocks off the main road. AKR WaterScapes mows the yards in between, on ground that drains slow and grows fast whenever the rain has been generous. Mowing is timed to the soil as much as the calendar, edges are cut true along drives and walks, and the trimmer takes the low wet corners where a lawn wants to go ragged. Clippings come off the concrete before the crew pulls out, so nothing washes into the street with the next shower. Standing back at the end of it, with the river traffic sounding beyond the levee, a clean even lawn feels like a small piece of order kept.
