About HORT & HOME Co.

March comes to Oak Hills Place all at once — azaleas open, the lawns wake up green, and every front walk suddenly needs its edge back. HORT & HOME Co. works from the doorway outward: beds cut clean, shrubs shaped back off the windows, the grass mowed and trimmed so the whole front of a house reads as one piece. It is small-scale care done attentively, a yard at a time, on streets where the homes sit close under their oaks. Through the long warm months the mowing holds its cadence; when fall comes the leaves get gathered and the bed lines redrawn. A house looks cared for from the curb when the lines are true, and that is the whole aim of the day.
