About Yards By Luis / Yards By Lidio

Late afternoon in New Orleans, a thunderhead builds out over the lake and the light turns gold along Bayou St. John. Yards By Luis / Yards By Lidio work down these streets with the mowers running, laying long even stripes across grass that grows fast in the wet subtropical summer. There is real satisfaction in it, the trimmed border pulled tight to the sidewalk, the clippings raked and hauled, a yard left neat before the evening rain sweeps in from the Gulf. Under the spread of the City Park oaks and out past Gentilly, one lawn after another comes back crisp and cared for. When the storm passes and the air cools, the whole block smells of cut grass and river.
