Lakeview Weed Whackers

About Lakeview Weed Whackers

Late August in Lakeview, the afternoon breeze rolls in off Lake Pontchartrain smelling of brackish water and cut grass, stirring the oaks on Harrison Avenue and cooling the porches for one merciful hour. This is a neighborhood that came back yard by yard after the floodwaters of 2005, and its people take the look of their blocks to heart. Lakeview Weed Whackers carries a name that tells you exactly where the work begins: the string trimmer, run tight along fences, curbs, foundations and light posts, everywhere a mower can't reach. Then the grass is mowed level so the whole yard reads as one clean piece. In the late-summer surge, when everything green grows faster than seems reasonable, a sharply trimmed lawn is a small victory over the heat.
