About Jake's Lawn Care Service's

Down in the Bywater, where shotgun houses lean toward the river and the wharves hum just past the levee, Jake's Lawn Care Service's keeps the small deep lots trimmed and the sidewalk edges clean. Summer here comes on humid and green, the St. Augustine grass thickening fast between the afternoon downpours, and a lawn can turn from tidy to wild inside a week. Jake's runs the mowers and string trimmers through that heat, cutting close to the fence lines and clearing the clippings before they mat in the damp. There's a plain satisfaction in a Bywater yard left square and open, the banana leaves nodding over a freshly edged walk. It's mowing, edging, trimming, and cleanup, done block by block near the river's bend.
